Ichiran of 31st Street

One of my favorite spots near Madison Square Garden, Ichiran never disappoints whether its after the Knicks game or whenever you find yourself in Midtown. You don’t have to feel awkward eating alone either, as the authentic Japanese style individual dining booths let you fully focus on the rich, creamy tonkotsu broth and perfectly cooked noodles. There is something special about being in your own little space, just you and your ramen, and being respectfully bowed to before your meal arrives.

The only downside is the wait, as lines can get pretty long during peak hours. I usually go at off times, like midday during the week or late at night around 9 or 10 p.m., to skip the crowds.
